From April 21st to 23rd, the Grand Palais Éphémère temporary exhibition hall situated at the foot of the Eiffel Tower will host the 49th edition of the Festival du Livre de Paris (Paris Book Festival). While Italian literature is the key theme for 2023, with guests such as Erri de Luca, the event has many equally exciting facets. Here is an overview.

Meet authors and publishers

The Paris Book Festival welcomes publishers and authors in the vast spaces of the Grand Palais Éphémère. With signing sessions on the stands, at the four literary cafés, in the Agora or during the awarding of several prizes, there are many opportunities to meet all the players in the world of books, discover new trends, and share your passion for reading. Comics, novels, essays, scientific literature… All styles and genres are represented. The programme is already available online if you want to plan your visit.

The Paris Book Festival beyond the walls

The Paris Book Festival takes over the whole city, spreading well beyond the impressive structure of the Grand Palais Éphémère. You can follow the festival trail to discover various emblematic places such as the Sorbonne, which will host a dialogue between the Nothomb sisters; the Musée des Arts et Métiers, which will host the Festival of Science for All, the Maison de la Poésie, where readings will be given; and the College des Bernardins, the appropriate setting for the Festival of Religious Books. Many readings by authors and talks by various authorities will also be taking place in the various media libraries of the city, including the Bibliothèque Amélie, the Bibliothèque Jacqueline de Romilly, and the Médiathèque Marguerite Yourcenar.

In the heart of a district that boasts a wealth of bookstores and publishing houses, the Six offers the ideal base from which to enjoy the Paris Book Festival!
