The rentrée (back-to-school season) is here, and Paris is ready to offer a multitude of cultural events to celebrate this time with flair. The team at Hôtel le Six & Spa has compiled the must-see highlights for September, ensuring a rentrée filled with culture and discovery.

The Paris Paralympic Event and European Heritage Days

The Paris Paralympic Event continues in September with thrilling competitions. On September 1st and 2nd, watch the para-triathlon events around Pont Alexandre III, and then enjoy wheelchair rugby on September 2nd for intense sports and emotional moments. From September 4th to 8th, experience the para powerlifting events at Arena Porte de la Chapelle, and from September 5th to 7th, catch the para judo at Arena Champ-de-Mars. Finally, don’t miss the grand closing ceremony at Stade de France on September 8th, an impressive event marking the end of the Games.

On September 21st and 22nd, the European Heritage Days will open the doors to numerous Parisian sites and monuments. Take advantage of unique tours and activities to explore places usually closed to the public, such as the Cour des Comptes. Explore the backstages of grand department stores, ghost metro stations, and many museums, theaters, and other remarkable sites. These days offer a unique opportunity to (re)discover Parisian heritage from a new perspective, with free and often reservation-only visits.

Exhibitions Not to Be Missed and Design Events

Starting September 24th, the Jeu de Paume will present an exhibition on filmmaker and artist Chantal Akerman, as well as a retrospective of American photographer Tina Barney. The Musée d’Orsay will host the first retrospective in France of Norwegian painter Harriet Backer, renowned for her indoor and outdoor scenes. The Musée Jacquemart-André reopens its doors on September 6th after a year of renovations, with an inaugural exhibition dedicated to the Borghese Gallery in Rome.
For design enthusiasts, the Maison & Objet fair will take place from September 5th to 9th at Parc des Expositions Paris Nord Villepinte, showcasing the latest innovations in interior design. Meanwhile, Paris Design Week from September 5th to 14th will transform Paris into the capital of creation and design, with a discovery tour through galleries and participating Parisian sites.

Paris offers a rich and diverse cultural rentrée, ideal for sports fans, art lovers, heritage enthusiasts, and design aficionados. The team at Hôtel le Six & Spa is here to help you plan your visits and make the most of these events. We wish you a memorable and enriching rentrée in our beautiful capital!
