Cultural life continues to reinvent itself in Paris. Although we talk a lot about the capital’s theatre, musicals, and cabarets, we sometimes forget the very rich and varied schedule of exhibitions. In world-famous institutions like the Musée d'Orsay and the Louvre as well as lesser-known places such as the Orangerie and the Musée Marmottan, you will always find an exhibition to amaze, surprise, inform and delight you. Here is a small selection of recommendations from the Hôtel Le Six team.

End of year events

Some exhibitions are simply unmissable. This is certainly the case with the new one at the Musée d’Orsay. Van Gogh in Auvers-sur-Oise highlights the last two months of the artist's life. Living in Auvers-sur-Oise, he explored new areas of his creativity during a period that produced some of his most famous paintings, including L’Eglise d’Auvers-sur-Oise and Le Docteur Paul Gachet. At the Louvre, you can marvel at the Treasury of Notre-Dame. All the pieces of goldwork from the cathedral are on display before being returned to the cathedral when the current restoration is complete. A unique opportunity to see these treasures up close.

Some original ideas

Less than a 10-minute walk from the Hotel Le Six, you can take advantage of the reopening of the Musée Zadkine and discover the first monographic exhibition dedicated to Chana Orloff. The Musée de l'Orangerie, just on the other side of the Seine, offers a fascinating dialogue between Modigliano and his art dealer, while the Musée Marmottan focuses on the relationship between Berthe Morisot and 18th century art. Finally, treat yourself to an immersion in beauty at the Jardin des Plantes, with Jungle in the Process of Illumination. Take a magical journey through the botanical garden amidst illuminated installations featuring the most emblematic animals of the tropical forests.

Between Christmas shopping, trade shows, and live performances, why not treat yourself to an exhibition in Paris? There’s sure to be one that suits you. The Six Hôtel team is happy to advise!
